The explosive story of Crackhead Jesus is coming to the big
screen as part of a short film competetion sponsored by the
Modern Art Music Movement (MAMM) at the 2010 Delray Beach Film
Festival. Inspired by real-life events which occurred in the
Delray Beach area, this story has amassed an underground cult
following of mixed media intellectuals. Three teams of local
film makers will interpret the controversial modern-art i-Novel
"The Crackhead Jesus Trials" written by Victor-Hugo Vaca II (www.crackheadjesus.com,
http://www.crackheadjesus.com/).
Adapted by the writing team of Margaret Nussbaum, Jim Steech and
Victor-Hugo Vaca II, this story ponders questions of theology
and politics in parody form as a vehicle for introspection,
depicting the real life incidents of a successful man who comes
to believe he is the New Messiah. 'Crackhead Jesus' is meant to
highlight - with humor - the real dangers of the abuse of power
by corrupt institutions. A fusion of art and music will combine
to create a groundbreaking experience in film. The script will
be shot in and around
the City of Delray Beach during the festival and will premier
March 25th, 2010. The winning film will receive the MAMM award
of $500.00
