Delray Beach Film Festival Celebrates Its 5 Year Anniversary
Stars Turnout For a Week of Honoring Local and International
Independent Filmmakers
Since the first Delray Beach Film Festival in 2006, this grassroots
festival has steadily grown into a beloved and much anticipated
local event. This year Director, Dr. Michael Posner, and his board
have coordinated an event that will surely bring local acclaim and
attention to independent filmmakers, as well as, provide a unique
cultural experience for thousands of Palm Beach locals.
Running March 22- 28, 2010, the DBFF, a (501) (c3) non-profit
organization, boasts an impressive lineup of events. From free
workshops lead by industry leaders such as Ellen Jacoby of Ellen
Jacoby Casting International, Steve Menkin of WDYAPro, Adam
Montgomery, Programming Manager of the Sundance Institute, and
Emmy-nominated Casting Director, Lori Wyman that are free and open
to the public to their annual Screen to Reel Contest, to a Beach
Cleanup and Surf Contest—the festival has an event for everyone.
In addition to the eclectic calendar of events, the festival
welcomes Barry Bostwick, best known for his role as Brad Majors in
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as the Creative Chair of the
festival. Emmy-Award winning actress Sharon Gless, best known for
her role as Christine Cagney in Cagney & Lacey, and Jessica Walters
of Play Misty For Me and more recently Arrested Development are
slated to receive the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Awards.
